We ALL are alone within because we are born alone and die alone. Even the twins have this, they can have entirely different or same outlooks but that existential aloneness is very much the part of each of us. What happens when you live in a society, it gets camouflaged and you become a part of a large whole, but many times like in a crisis or some spot where you have to take a stand, you realize you stand alone. Only your Spouse, if you have a good one that is, will ever be with you, in thick or thin.
When Rumi said this, I am certain he must be sitting along in presence of the creator. “There is loneliness more precious than life. There is freedom more precious than the world. Infinitely more precious than life and the world is that moment when one is alone with God.” Silence, when deeply felt within one’s soul, takes one closer to the creator than any pilgrimage. And we all have that opportunity but’ don’t use it
